About Ballina Byron Family Day Care
Ballina Byron Family Day Care has been providing our local communities with quality childcare, for over 27 years.
We are a non-profit community based Family Day Care Scheme, and our service is sponsored by a community based management committee consisting of representatives from the community, educators, parents and staff. All our parents, educators and community members are encouraged and invited to attend our General Meetings throughout the year.
Early Childhood Services
All early childhood services in New South Wales are regulated by the NSW Government Department of Education and Communities. Family Day Care Educators are obliged to obtain Working with Children checks, hold a minimum of a Certificate III Level Education and Care qualification and hold a Child Protection Certificate. All educators must also have a current First Aid and CPR Certificate and have completed Emergency Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management training.

Manager / Nominated Supervisor
Within my 30+ years’ experience in Early Childhood Education and Care, plus being a mother and Grandparent my pedagogy has never strayed from ensure positive outcomes for all children. We support Educators to always extend their learning to support Quality Care and Education. To me Family Day Care is the whole package!
As Educational Leader I have over 16 years experience in Family Day Care and proudly lead the development and implementation of effective educational programs in our service. I have an influential role in inspiring, motivating, affirming, challenging and extending Educators pedagogical practices in a collaborative endeavour to ensure quality outcomes for the children and families using our service.
As Administration Officer it is my role is to greet, assist parents. I preform the daily processes of general office administration in the service and ensure the service runs smoothly and efficiently for the Manager, Staff, Educator’s & families.
In my role as a Coordinator I assist parents through the enrolment process. I support Educators to meet all National Quality Standards, abide by Education and Care Regulations and to follow Policies of Ballina Byron Family Day Care.
I have completed my Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education and have worked in the early childhood industry for over 15 years, in both centre based and Family Daycare settings. I am passionate about play based learning, literacy and getting children active. I also have 3 beautiful children of my own.
As a Playgroup Facilitator, I program and implement high quality playgroups, which focus on connecting Family Day Care Educators and children to the community. Along with, developing their social, emotional, cognitive and communication skills, using the Early Years Learning Framework. As a Coordinator, my role is to ensure Family Day Educators provide inclusive, nurturing and learning environments for children, and are able to meet all the State and Commonwealth legislative requirements. As well as, identify the areas of improvement and work in collaboration with all participants to achieve quality learning outcomes for all children accessing the Family Day Care Service.
