Educator with Ballina Byron Family Day Care
Thank you for taking the time to consider the possibility of becoming an educator with Ballina Byron Family Day Care. You will be working in partnership with parents and our coordination unit, creating programs to develop children’s ideas, strengths and abilities. Working as an educator with Ballina Byron Family Day Care is highly regulated and we have many requirements that need to be met, to ensure you, your family and your environment meet the standards set by the industry, Government and Ballina Byron Family Day Care.
These standards include:
- Education and Care Service National Regulations 2012
- National Quality Standards for Early Childhood Education and Care and School Age Care 2010
- Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and Framework for School Aged Care in Australia
Do you have, or would be willing to work towards, the following:
- Educator must have a Certificate III in Children’s Service
- Willing to open your home to families seeking care and education for their child/children
- Have an understanding of the above regulations and frameworks
- Have good communication skills - both written and verbal
- Be able to develop rapport with all families
- Embrace diversity and abilities that are different
- Set up an environment for children that stimulates their learning
- Be able to document children’s learning using a variety of mediums
- Have excellent organisational skills and be able to multi task
- Be committed to professional development
- Be able to run a small business and meet legislative requirements (including taxation)
